M&P Tracking Glossary: Courier Terms Explained

A quick guide to the short words a tracking page uses.

Consignment Number (CN)

Your tracking number, at least 7 digits long. It is printed under the barcode on your receipt or sent by SMS.

Line-Haul

The trip between cities, from one hub to the next. There are no scans while the parcel is on the road.

Out for Delivery

A rider has your parcel for today’s deliveries. It tells you the day, not the exact time.

Returned to Shipper (RTS)

Return to sender. If delivery keeps failing, the parcel goes back to the sender instead of being tried again and again.

Retail COD

M&P’s cash on delivery option for individual sellers and small shops.

Corporate COD

M&P’s cash on delivery option for businesses with a formal agreement. Buyers track these parcels in the same way as Retail COD ones.

MNP / MandP

Both mean M&P, the courier of Muller & Phipps Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., written without the & sign. Our web address is spelled the same way, because web addresses cannot include an “&”.

Volumetric Weight

A weight worked out from the size of the box. Big, light boxes can cost more than their real weight suggests.

Proof of Delivery (POD)

The signature or name recorded when the parcel is handed over. Support checks this first if tracking says Delivered but nothing arrived.
