1. Why Do M&P Prices Vary?

The price of an M&P parcel depends on the parcel itself and on how far and how fast it has to travel.

These are the main things that affect the price:

Distance: A parcel within one city usually has a shorter trip than one going to another province or a small town.
Speed: Faster services cost more. M&P says Second Day costs less than Overnight Express.
Weight: M&P charges by the higher of the real weight and the weight worked out from the box size.
Taxes: Sales tax may be added. We could not confirm other extra charges, so ask when you get a quote.

2. What You Need Before Checking a Price

To get an accurate price from M&P’s tariff calculator or the helpline, have these details ready:

Sending city and courier centre: Where you will hand in the parcel.
Destination: The city or town you are sending to.
Real weight: In kilograms or grams, from a proper scale.
Box size: Length, width and height in centimetres, for boxes.
What is inside: Documents or goods, and whether it is cash on delivery.

3. Real Weight vs Volumetric Weight

A common reason for a higher price than expected is volumetric (dimensional) weight. Space in vehicles is limited by size as well as weight.

M&P's Volumetric Formula

M&P works out volumetric weight with this formula:

Volumetric Weight (kg) = (Length × Width × Height in cm) / 5000

M&P charges whichever is higher: the real weight on the scale or the volumetric weight. This becomes the chargeable weight . For example, a big box of cushions might weigh 1 kg on the scale but count as 4 kg by size, so you pay for 4 kg.

4. Packing: My Flyer vs My Box

Picking the right M&P packing can keep the size weight down and protect your items:

My Flyer (Documents and Small Items)

Plastic bags for documents and flat items, such as papers and light clothes. Flyers are thin, so the size weight stays low.

My Box (Corrugated Cardboard)

Cardboard boxes in set sizes for goods that need protection. Choose a box that fits, so you do not pay for empty space.

5. Using M&P’s Tariff Calculator

To check the current price, use M&P’s own tools:

Go to the M&P website: Visit mulphilog.com and find the tariff or rate calculator.
From and to: Enter where the parcel is going from and to.
Service: Choose Same Day (intra-city), Overnight, Second Day or international.
Weight and size: Enter the weight and box size to see the price.

The final price is set at the courier centre when the parcel is weighed and measured.

6. Estimates vs Final Prices

Some websites publish tables of exact prices. These go out of date quickly, because courier prices change with fuel costs, taxes and routes.

Any price you find online, from a calculator or a guide, is only an estimate. An official binding quotation is given at an M&P courier centre after the parcel is weighed and checked.

Sales tax may be added to the price. Ask at the counter or check the calculator for the full amount.

Are prices different for businesses?

Businesses that send many parcels can agree their own terms with M&P, for example through Corporate COD. Ask M&P about business rates.
